The Whitman House, Route 6, in North Truro serves dinner seasonally. The restaurant, which was described by owner Robert Rice as "fine dining, upscale but moderate in price" offers early bird specials, a children's menu and full liquor service. Proper dress is requested.

The average cost of dinner for two is between $30 and $50. The cuisine is described as "American" with more than half of the restaurant's entrees featuring seafood, about one-third beef, veal and pork dishes. About 10% of the menu is dedicated to chicken dishes.

According to the owner, the restaurant offers "Early American decor, four very unique dining rooms... Won "Cape Cod Life's best fine dining and place to have a wedding reception four out of the last six years for the Outer Cape."

Established in 1962, the family-owned restaurant includes as house specialties Roast Prime Rib, Classic Seafood Newburg & Slightly Blackened Swordfish with Sauce Béarnaise.
