Festival: November 23, 2008 SUNDAY, 1PM to 6PM Resort & Conference Center @ Hyannis
-The much anticipated 3rd bi-annual “TASTE of Cape Cod”® Food event will be held again with the theme, “Celebrating Cape Cod Chefs”, a showcase of Cape Cod Restaurants, regional and local Specialty Foods . The holiday festival will be held on November 23, Sunday 1 PM to 6 PM in the newly renovated Grand Ballroom in the Resort & Conference Center, 35 Scudder Avenue in Hyannis, Massachusetts.
- John Rega, TV/Radio Food & Restaurant Commentator, will host the event and introduce Cape Cod chefs and cookbook authors on the “Classic Kitchen & Interiors” Cooking Stage during the hourly recipe demonstrations. Food festival patrons will also enjoy and sample taste classic holiday dishes prepared by Cape Cod restaurant chefs, cookbook authors, local and regional specialty foods. Just in time for the holidays attendees will be able to purchase Cape Cod specialty foods and gift baskets , including restaurant gift certificates at a special price.
-Live music performed by strolling entertainers play a key role throughout the festival and includes a dance floor for guests to express themselves while enjoying the sounds of popular sixteen-piece big band, ‘The Moonlighters’. Holiday fashion shows by Sri Boutique, Hyannis and holiday decorations designed by Country Gardens, Hyannis add to this season’s holiday Food and Restaurant festival. Local and regional chefs are invited to attend the festival at no charge, as long as they wear a “chef coat” from their respective restaurant or present a American Culinary Federation membership card.
-The cooking demonstrations will be televised on ION Network (PAX TV) New England and webcast on the “TASTE of Cape Cod”® TV shows during the winter and spring months on tasteofcapecod.tv. The audio portion of the Chef’s interviews will be radio broadcast on John Rega’s “Dining Around” Show Sundays, 10am to Noon, WXTK 95FM.
-Patrons may come any time between the hours between 1pm to 5pm for food and wine tasting. Reservations are not required. Admission is $25.00 per person at the door includes 10 taste tickets, door prizes, entertainment, fashion shows, cooking demonstrations. Advance tickets are available at all Puritan Clothing Stores and Luke’s Super Liquors throughout Cape Cod for $25 per person. The “TASTE” admission ticket sales will benefit in part the “Meals on Wheels” Cape Cod with a donation of $5.00 per ticket plus all sales from patron who purchase additional $10.00 Tasting tickets .
