-The much anticipated bi-annual “TASTE of Cape Cod”® Ethnic Restaurant & Food Festival will be held again this season with the theme, “Variety is the Spice of Cape Cod”, a showcase exclusively for Cape Cod Restaurants and Specialty Foods. The event will be held on Memorial Day, Monday, May 26, 1PM to 6PM in the newly renovated grand ballroom in the Resort & Conference Center, Hyannis, Cape Cod, Massachusetts. This is the second of two seasonal festivals produced during spring and winter each year by the “TASTE of Cape Cod”®.
-John Rega, TV/Radio Food & Restaurant Commentator, will host the event along with Co- Host, Gwenn Friss, Cape Cod Times Food Editor & Host of C3TV’s “Homefront”. During the 5-hour food festival patrons will also enjoy and sample taste ethnic and classic dishes prepared by Cape Cod restaurant chefs, cookbook authors, local international groups and regional specialty food producers. Patrons will also be able to purchase ethnic food gift baskets and restaurant gift certificates just in time for Father’s Day.
-Live music performed by Cape Cod entertainers play a key role throughout the festival with a dance floor for guests to express themselves while enjoying the vibrant and moving sounds of popular sixteen-piece big band, ‘The Moonlighters’. Summer fashion shows by Sri Boutique, Hyannis and outdoor dining garden settings designed by Country Gardens, Hyannis add to this “Spring into Summer Festival”.
-Ethnic and fusion cooking demos will be featured on the Classic Kitchen & Interiors, Hyannis, demonstration stage, with many local restaurant chefs and cooks from international civic groups preparing their country’s specialties. A question and answer forum will follow each of the recipe demonstration. Recipes prepared will also be available on line at foodingaroundcapecod.com . The festival show will also be televised and webcast on the “TASTE of Cape Cod”® TV shows during the summer months.
-Patrons may come any time during the hours between 1pm to 6pm, reservations are not required. Admission is $25.00 per person at the door, whichincludes sample food tasting, foodie door prizes, fashion shows, cooking demonstrations, and entertainment. Advance tickets are available at all Puritan Clothing Stores, Falmouth, Mashpee, Hyannis and Chatham for $20 per person.
